He died this week after a long battle with the forces of evil, and was carried off the battlefield on his shield of cynicism. I've been a lifelong lover of standup comedy, and George Carlin was the best of them all. When I was a teenager, I used to make mixtapes and stick his routines between the songs. I even had a version of the Seven Words that aired on Doctor Demento (it was, ironically, bleeped out). The man was my hero, and I'm gonna miss him. Rest in pieces, George, you cranky old bastard.
